Welcome to the 1000+ new readers to my weekly newsletter! If you're new here, I'm Justin. I'm a product manager and startup founder. I've worked with small startups and public companies. Now, I'm focused on helping people build strong products and grow businesses with AI.

This Week's Recommendations:

Creating in The Era of Creative Confidence: The rise of AI-powered creative tools and more accessible platforms is changing the way people express themselves creatively and is leading to a decline in the learning curve for creative skills. AI-generated content will become more prevalent, but there will always be a demand for human creators and the unique perspective they bring.

We Evaluated ChatGPT vs. Google on 500 Search Queries: If you're interested in how Google compares to ChatGPT, this is an interesting article. They found that ChatGPT crushes Google on coding queries but ties it on general informational queries.

A breakout year for AI art brings as many questions as answers: Here's a good overview of everything happening in AI art. We have a lot to figure out around the economic, legal, and financial implications of the tech. Things like copyright issues, sexually suggestive AI-generated images, deepfakes are going to be very hard to contain. It's important to start thinking about the implications before the technology improves another tenfold.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting … GPT-4: GPT-4 is coming. It will be like a "bull in a china shop, reckless and hard to control. It will still make a significant number of shake-your-head stupid errors, in ways that are hard to fully predict." When I read about GPT-4 (and it's future predecessors) it gets me even more excited to take the plunge into AI. This is an amazing opportunity to be early.

ChatGPT and The Professional's Guide to Using AI: "Because in the same way that Google or the internet lets you access knowledge in real-time, AI will let you access intelligence in real-time." This article explores real disruptive use-cases of AI across education, sales, marketing, recruiting, product management, and more. No matter your unique expertise, there are unique problems you can solve with this technology.

My Thoughts:

I've been thinking a lot about the "hammer looking for a nail problem". Many people getting into AI are looking for their billion-dollar-AI-business-idea. But, it's more important than ever to start with a real customer problem rather than the technology.

It reminds me of this video from Steve Jobs. "You can't start with the technology and try to figure out where you're going to sell it." You have to start with a real customer pain point.

That's it for this week.

On a brief side note, I love to help businesses build great products and grow. I'm accepting new consulting clients for 2023. As a product and growth consultant, I've helped numerous businesses build user-focused products that have been used by millions globally. Want to get AI built into your business? Want to talk growth?
