Hey friends 👋, Today, I'm leaving NYC for the next two months. I'll be traveling from Colorado to Seattle to Oregon. I’ll be exploring nature while making sure to stay-up-to-date in the world of AI :) But, it was another exciting week in AI, let's jump in... AI DEBATE 💬 Reconsidering AI Chatbots on Your Website: Are They Worth the Risk?I stirred up some debate this week with a controversial video, questioning whether adding an LLM-powered AI chatbot to your website is truly the best choice. The reality is that AI chatbots are far from perfect. They make stuff up, provide wrong information, and in turn, result in a poor customer experience. Some people may argue that the convenience outweighs the risk, but there's a good reason why practically all major companies haven’t jumped on the bandwagon and placed fully autonomous chatbots on their websites… Instead of trusting AI chatbots to completely replace your customer service agents, try an incremental adoption approach. For instance, have your team leverage AI to speed up their replies. This saves your business massive amounts of time, while maintaining the quality and reliability that a human can provide. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Every business has unique needs, but it’s essential to weigh the potential consequences of using a fully automated chatbot on your website. Should companies put fully automated chatbots on their website?
OPINION PIECE 🪷 As AI Hype Fades, Opportunities FlourishThe AI hype is beginning to fade. ChatGPT captured everyone's attention, making AI mainstream. But now, as the novelty starts to wear off, a new and exciting phase begins. This is when genuine opportunities emerge. During the hype, people turned to AI tools for fun and novelty, not for real solutions. With less hype, people will only use products that truly solve their problems. The driving force now is not hype, but a genuine need in the market. As the "AI hype" starts to fade, I can't help but feel excited. It signifies a shift in focus toward finding meaningful solutions to real-world problems, and that's what truly matters. 💡 This Week's Recommendations🔗 Amazon’s vision: An AI model for everything: Amazon is taking an interesting approach to AI. They want to create an "AI Marketplace", which is essentially a one-stop shop where you can explore dozens of foundational models. Certain models will be better suited for certain tasks, and Amazon wants developers to be able to easily choose from various models right within AWS. 🔗 ChatGPT maker OpenAI faces a lawsuit over how it used people’s data: OpenAI is facing a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company violated the copyrights and privacy of countless individuals by using data scraped from the internet to train ChatGPT. This issue will likely continue to be a significant legal concern in the development of AI. It will be interesting to see how this plays out; data is clearly the new oil. 🔗 Google DeepMind’s CEO Says Its Next Algorithm Will Eclipse ChatGPT: The CEO of Google Deepmind has announced that his team is developing an AI system called Gemini that will be more capable than OpenAI's ChatGPT. It is likely that we have not yet seen the full extent of Google's capabilities in this area, and that they are only just getting started. 🔗 Elon Musk blames data scraping by AI startups for his new paywalls on reading tweets: Elon Musk imposed a new limitation on the number of Twitter posts that people can read per day. The purpose of this limitation is to prevent AI companies from scraping "vast amounts of data." The larger issue at hand is the question of data ownership. While AI companies require data to train their models, people do not want their data taken for free. Twitter is taking a stand. Thanks for tuning in, Justin P.S. I'll be posting more content on LinkedIn soon, make sure to give me a follow there. |
